Marriage is a formality

Often I hear phrases like: "Marriage is a formality"
I wonder what is behind this phrase...
They say that women are the initiators of the marriage, most of all.
Usually "a formality" is in the lives of those people for whom marriage is not a fact, not yet.
Is marriage a guarantor of relationships?
The answer is obvious.
No.
I think that every relationships can be in crisis (not one time even).
What is important it is experience. Always.
When you are in a relationship or marriage, then sit in the trench will not work.
Marriage is not a formality and is not a guarantor of relationships. Moreover, I think we need to realize that the relationships die, it happens. And this is normal.
There are examples of how people save their relationships for decades, many many years. And it's beautiful...
This is the finest expression of human nature.
