Moscow Real. Hotel "Russia"

Construction of the hotel "Russia" began in  in 1964.
Previously planned to build one of Stalin's skyscrapers as Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the building of the University of Moscow.
However, Stalin is dead, and building high-rise facility was suspended.
After a time, there could be only "Russia". Construction of the project was completed in 1967. At the request of Khrushchev the hight of hotel has been changed from 9 to12 floors. The hotel was designed to house the delegates of numerous conferences.

"Russia" - is:
2722 hotel rooms (about 5000 visitors), several restaurants, cafes, bars, cinema, sauna and swimming pool, concert hall, laundry, telephone exchange, a store and more.

Area - about 13 hectares, the length of corridors - 8 km, the number of staff - 1320 people.In 1970 Russia Moscow Hotel was entered in the Guinness Book of Records as one of the largest hotels in Moscow and in the world.

For the first time the news about  the closing of the hotel "Russia" appeared in 2004. In 2006, "Russia" has ceased to exist, in 2008 the demolition of all buildings completed.

Rewards of Hotel "Russia"
Hotel Russia (Moscow) holds many awards, including the foreign ones. For example, in 2001 Russia became the owner of the award "Quality Summit Award" in the category of Platinum, in the same year it received the XXVI International Award for Tourism and Hotel Management - for the quality, image and excellent service. The prize "Arch of Europe" - for the quality and technology leadership has been handed the hotel in March 2001. Next, in 2002, was also rich in rewards: Hotel  Russia (Moscow) won the international prize "The quest for quality, leadership, Advanced Technologies and Innovations" award and "International Star for Quality". Finally, in October 2003, Russia won the hotel international awards - "Platinum Award for Quality and Best Trade Name" and "International Award for Quality."
